Common Range Integrated Instrumentation System Rapid Prototyping Initiative
(CRIIS RPI)

MISSION:

To develop a “man-portable” radio unit to provide Time-Space Position Information (TSPI) for Dismounted Soldiers (DS) and Low Dynamic Vehicles (LDV) supporting test and training activities.

DESCRIPTION:

CRIIS RPI is an accelerated effort to develop a “prototype” capability to provide precision TSPI for DS and LDV (e.g., ground or aircraft that are subjected to accelerations of 4Gs or less) engaged in test and evaluation events. The initial users of this capability are White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) and Yuma Proving Ground (YPG). To date, the CRIIS RPI project has delivered 300 radio units to WSMR and 80 to YPG.
