One Tactical Engagement Simulation System (OneTESS)

MISSION:

To provide the indirect fire capability and fill the weapon systems training gap in Live Fire Force-on-Force training across the Army to include the development of the initial Architecture and Standards for indirect fire to ensure commonality and interoperability between components.

DESCRIPTION:

OneTESS is currently guided by a new requirements document called Live Tactical Engagement Simulation System (LTESS) Directed Requirements Document (DRD). OneTESS will provide a live, precision, combined arms Indirect Fire (IF) Force-on-Force training capability for Brigade-and-below exercises, at Homestation, Combat Maneuver Training Centers and deployed sites and will be interoperable with I-MILES laser-based systems. It will provide realistic, real-time casualty effects for indirect-fire tactical engagements. Current development includes Indirect Fire capability for the IBCT 60mm/81mm/120mm mortars, Forward Observer (FO), and development of the Architecture. Future development includes Artillery, Automated Medical Casualty Assessment, Medical Casualty Treatment Tracking, Maintenance Assessment, NBC, Aviation/Air Defense, EW/IOW, Mk-19, M203/320, Mine/Countermine, and Precision Gunnery. OneTESS will be compliant with the Common Training Instrumentation Architecture (CTIA) in support of Army and Joint Exercises.
