DESCRIPTION:
VIIP provides the communications interface between vehicles and the instrumentation systems at JMRC and the Alaska Range, Homestation Instrumentation Training System (HITS), Deployable Instrumented Training System (DITS) and Deployable System for Training and Readiness (DSTAR). VIIP appends to vehicles and allows for simulated direct and indirect-fire engagements. VIIP instruments Abrams, Bradleys and Strykers using the MILES XXI, MGS TESS, the Tank Weapon Gunnery Simulation System (TWGSS) or the Precision Gunnery System (PGS). VIIP provides brigade commanders and training exercise managers exercise oversight and capability for comprehensive after-action review production.
