SHAPE Vision

CREATE A CULTURE WHICH ENABLES EACH EMPLOYEE, MILITARY AND CIVILIAN, TO PURSUE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT OF PERSONAL WELLNESS AND IN THE WELLNESS OF THE ORGANIZATION, IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARMY HEALTH PROMOTION PROGRAM GUIDELINES, BY:

  • MAKING PROGRAMS ACCESSIBLE TO ALL EMPLOYEES
  • PROVIDING THE TOOLS FOR CHANGE
  • MEASURING SUCCESS - BOTH INDIVIDUAL AND ORGANIZATION
  • PROVIDING PROGRAMS THAT REACH THE TRADITIONAL NON-USER

SHAPE Initiatives
  1. Prepare and route a survey for PEO STRI employees to express their attitudes and suggestions for SHAPE.
  2. Consolidate current goals and ideas.
  3. Keep the workforce informed through the SHAPE Info.
  4. Coordinate activities with the Navy Wellness Advisory Committee to facilitate joint wellness ventures between PEO STRI and NAWC-TSD.
  5. Establish a Health Assessment Program to include:
    1. Blood Chemistry Profile
    2. Heart Assessment
    3. Health Risk Assessment Survey
    4. Individual improvement program with goals and milestones.
  6. Provide health-related training through formal courses and speakers. Some possible topics are:
    1. Cholesterol
    2. Smoking Cessation
    3. Healthy Back Class
    4. Healthy Heart Seminar
    5. CPR
  7. Coordinate with local organizations such as University of Central Florida (UCF), hospitals, and health clubs to become informed of services and activities available for our employees.
  8. Estimate resources required and establish budget.
  9. Develop measures of success for individuals as well as for the Program Executive Office (PEO) based on other successful health promotion programs.
