Mission

The Maritime Integrated Training Systems (MITS), a “Support Mission” program, is a system of simulator systems that supports simulations training for the U.S. Army Transportation School, Maritime & Intermodal Training Department (M&ITD).

Description

The MITS is a system of simulator systems that train Full Mission Bridge, Small Craft Bridge, Vessel Defense, Expeditionary Fast Transport, Engine Room and Barge Derrick Crane simulators. The MITS comes in multiple configurations that can fully integrate all MITS together for Joint Land Overseas Training (JLOT) scenarios or train each one of them independently. The MITS supports training for 13 Maritime Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) for both enlisted and officers.  It is supports training for the U.S. Army, Navy, Coast Guard and merchant marine.  The MITS utilizes immersive, realistic training scenarios supporting sea states from 1-6. The MITS employs U.S. Army and Navy harbor databases and virtual ship libraries.   The U.S. Army is developing a new Maneuver Support Vessel-Light (MSV-L) that is planned to be incorporated into the MITS during FY23.
