Mission
CEVT is the U.S. Army virtual trainer simulator whose primary mission is to train all identified tasks as defined in its requirements documents and to meet the specific training needs of the 12N Horizontal Construction Engineer Military Operation Specialties (MOS).
Description
CEVT is a training system composed of Student Training Stations (STS), which are reconfigurable motion-based simulator platforms, and Instructor/Operator Stations (IOS) for control and After-Action Review (AAR). The STS is composed of a reconfigurable variant kit and a common motion base.
The reconfigurable variant kits enable construction equipment operator training for the Motor Grader (Model 120M), Scraper (Model 621G), Dozer (Model D7R), Wheel Loader (Model 924H), and Hydraulic Excavator (Model 240) construction vehicles. Any variant kit may be used on the common motion base.
The IOS is composed of a workstation, a large Classroom Screen monitor, and a printer. The instructor or operator uses the workstation to facilitate training for up to 11 simulators. The Classroom Screen may be used to facilitate an AAR with one or more students. The printer is a color printer used for printing student data and records, scenario information, and documents resident on the IOS (e.g., operator’s manuals, maintenance manuals, etc.).
CEVT operates in a stand-alone mode to train critical individual tasks for institutional and sustainment training. It is not a collective trainer, meaning simply that the students do not train with each other in a virtual environment
